Where were you on that frosty Christmas Eve night
When the light at the cross shone so warmly and bright
Standing there proudly was the Holy Year Cross
All lovely and clean, in a back drop of green
In the weeks gone afore, with much sweat & toil
Loca1 men and in deed boys cleared the trees and their spoil
They washed down the cross for all to see
Many thanks to John Joe for letting it be
Then the decision was made that the cross must be lit
So to the spark to work at it
Along came a genny to the Scullions Hill site
To provide the Big cross with much needed light
At 7.15 with rain falling down
The cross was lit from top to the ground
Liam with his camera captured the moment
And on the net will proudly .com it
From 7.15 to 12.55
The cross on the hill was truly alive
Church goers whether early or late
Could see the cross from our own chapel gate
Every one said how well it did look
Thanks to the work from our Termoneeny Group
But for those who missed it I’m sorry to say
For them and their souls we sadly must pray
To lighten their hearts and bring them some cheer
The cross on the hill will be lit up next year!!!!!
